confirmation is here

We just received it-- the email shipment confirmation-- Praying Mantis Sack #2 is on it's way--

Still don't have a name-- but we'll have to come up with something to call it, since it will probably take FOREVER to hatch! Or maybe we should just stick with Dudley? I'm sure glad I don't have anything else going on tonight that's more important than coming up with a name for a praying mantis pet ...or should I say a praying mantis pet wannabe....

weekend review in pictures

Another whirlwind weekend here-- started out with a Science Center outing-- Jacob was in his glory taking it all in. Especially the trains...
Onto the planetarium. Truthfully, the shows are very informative, but the seats are just a little too comfy if ya know what I mean :). Definitely not a thriller Disney ride...
Next adventure-- traffic...
2 hours later..... still traffic... we had a mini snowstorm causing tons a little accidents and the closure of a major interstate-- not good.
Brrrrr...
These scenes may be pretty, but somehow I just prefer the summer view.
2 hours later (should have taken 45 minutes) -our destination- The Shakespeare Restaurant. What a neat place- hope to see it someday in the daylight. The occasion- my aunt's 60th leap day birthday celebration.

I think I'll take this in the ceiling of our future family room.
This pict. is actually from the following night- another celebration of new jobs. Elizabeth was in her usual -QUIT taking my picture mode :)
Gotcha anyway!
Just too many things to do with a bread basket!
We also had another karate tournament- Elisha did really well, but only competed with 4 children, and Mark had some fierce competition-- he was the only one in his age group.

We're now back to Monday routine-- sort of :) Have a great week!

He's back... ...maybe

Remember him? Dudley Monty the praying mantis that never was? This is how he ended up:
Well, we've just been informed that 'due the the failure of becoming what he was supposed to become', the next praying mantis egg shipment is on it's way (and this one is free :).... oh goodie. Does that mean this one will be traveling everywhere once again? But wait! I'm not prepared-- I don't even have a name picked out-- any suggestions?

I have yet to figure out if it's a good thing that we're not like normal families with pets of fish or cats or puppies, or if it just makes us all the more crazy :)

Of course there is always the chance this one will be a dud too.... or will it look like this? (and this one was totally free, sitting on our front porch)~

Just when you thought you were safe, the praying mantis saga continues.... Guess we'll have to order some of those yummy looking vials of fruit flies too... babies are such hard work....

Narnia Wonderland

Another winter wonderland was formed last night. Elizabeth saw the beauty- "Mommy it looks like Narnia!" Still being the winter-wimp that I am, I reluctantly had to agree.

I suppose there is beauty in everything :)

The wise old tree agreed...

And what better way to cap off an afternoon of play? Hot cocoa of course!

Jacob thoroughly agreed :)

Now for a preview of tomorrow's post ....

Monty --the praying mantis that never was-- shall return....
