I'm definitely not a politically or business oriented person, and attempt to steer clear from most of the media. But with all of the financial talk, how can you not be aware of what's going on?
For many years we were in a social establishment that was trying to raise money for everything under the sun. The primary way being bake sales and yard sales. So I had a thought-- with all of the financial distress and government bailouts- why not just have a HUGE bake sale and consignment/yard sale on the Mall in Washington, D.C.? The politicians and business people could donate their used things to the cause. With 2 miles to work with, just think of the treats and goodies and bargains to find?!? It could even be a monthly event. The people would come in droves and bring in tons of extra money to the city. No, I don't have anything better to do right now. ;)

what a great idea - we could sell pretzels and all the other goodies we could come up with!! I would even find a way to travel at least every other month to, of course, help with our booth, cause I just couldn't live with myself if I left that task up to you all the time - WAY too big a burden, ya know...I'd be happy to donate our profits to help with the economy...see ya in a week!
